Announced in October 1977, the HZ was Holden's fourth and final revision of the original HQ series and was to be the last full-size model before the introduction of the smaller Commodore. The commercial range continued largely unchanged from previous models, with the Ute and panel van once again the popular choice for tradies across the country. Whilst both could be ordered with the iconic Sandman pack from the dealers, many Kingswood vans were adorned with equally elaborate custom paintwork and graphics in all manner and themes
